“thoughts and prayers”, 48x36 inches, oil on canvas. While covid rages on, gun violence and false sincerity continues. (as an aside, have you noticed that in Montana every highway death is marked with a white Christian cross on a red pole?) When did Christianity hijack America and its politics? Three of the most over-used and under- felt words in a row, the three least effective words to address assault weapons, gun violence, mass shootings, murdered school children.... are "thoughts and prayers", and are as apt and as a stone halo...
