"Isolating Venus", 144x108 inches, nine panels, oil on canvas. During the first year of the pandemic, isolation became our new normal, and often with devastating effects. Isolation broke some of us entirely. Perhaps it broke all of us in some barely discernible or even invisible ways. Of course isolation has been part of the human experience long before covid arrived. Those of us who have been isolated and ostracized carry the weight of that experience for our lifetime. "Isolating Venus" gives those of us who have been separated from human touch and from human kindness, whose spirit has been severed, wings to fly....
